The meeting, attended by school heads, education officials, and Path to Russia leadership, was a milestone in bridging cultural exchange with Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
What the Program Offers
- Deployment of Teachers: A Russian language teacher has been assigned to four schools in Murang’a, with all costs fully covered by Path to Russia.
- Classroom Integration: Two weekly lessons of 40 minutes each, fitted seamlessly into existing timetables.
- Free Learning Resources: Textbooks, workbooks, and practice materials distributed at no cost to schools or families.
- Assessments: After two years, learners will sit for proficiency tests, advancing in levels as their skills grow.
- Opportunities Beyond the Classroom: From cultural exchanges to career pathways in international fields, the program opens doors for learners.
Collaboration for Success
The Director of Education assigned a Quality and Standards Officer to oversee implementation, ensuring smooth integration from January 2025. Schools welcomed the initiative as a step that aligns with national goals while equipping learners with global opportunities.
Conclusion
This program is more than language instruction—it is about expanding horizons. By introducing Russian to Kangema’s learners, Path to Russia is nurturing cultural awareness, international exposure, and global citizenship.
